Favorite movies

  • Pearl (2022) / I went as her for halloween one year! This movie is so tragic and painfully relatable. I want to be a star!

  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) / It's a classic. I was so impressed and disturbed after seeing it, no slasher has impressed me in that way since.

  • The Substance (2024) / Deeply disturbing and entertaining. It just keeps on going... My most memorable movie theater experience.

  • Eighth Grade (2018) / This is a horror movie to me. I had to take breaks watching it. Too real.

  • Be My Cat: A Film for Anne (2015) / This is pure found footage horror. It's not for everyone but it does everything right for me.

  • Host (2020) / Extremely fun to watch.

  • Nope (2022) / I'm rarely satisfied with alien horror movies (They never portray us right...) but this movie satisfied me.

  • Interstellar (2014) / Gargantua, my beloved. This movie is so beautiful.

I'm really bad at watching TV so I don't have enough to make an entire seperate list, but I need to include Swarm (2023) as I adore that show, it has the same appeal as Pearl did to me. I also quite like Nathan for You (2013), it makes me laugh.

Favorite Games

  • Outer Wilds (2019) / It's as good as people say it is, best game ever, outer space perfection. PLAY IT!!! DLC TOO!!

  • Disco Elysium (2019) / Unparalleled writing, world building, characterization...

  • Until Dawn (2015) / I wish I could play this game for the first time again.

  • Life is Strange 2 (2018) / I love all the life is strange games but this one made me cry the hardest.

  • Portal 2 (2011) / Who doesn't love this game. The finale is so good...

  • HITMAN World of Assassination (2022) / Extremely fun game to mess around in, I have fond memories with the whole trilogy.

  • Dwarf Fortress (2006?) / I love building forts and watching my lil' guys live in it and torturing invaders with trap halls.

  • Project Zomboid (2011?) / The best game for roleplay.

  • Noita (2019) / I would endlessly entertain myself with The Powder Toy as a child, Noita scratches that same itch.

  • Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy (2017) / I love this type of rage game so, so much. I used to try speedrunning it but only got down to like, 8 minutes.

Nintendo (Particularly Mario) games, also hold a special place in my heart, even if I wouldn't call them my absolute favorite games ever. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Paper Mario, Mario 64 (DS, specifically), Super Mario Galaxy... Super Mario Galaxy... Super Mario Galaxy...

I hate social media! I hate that every post is graded by all these different metrics. It feels degrading, humiliating, it makes me feel like I'm not worth anything. I hate watching my shitty old animations get stolen and reposted on platforms I specifically avoid, and then getting accused of lying by a bunch of children when I make an account to say that it was stolen from me. I hate how these platforms shamelessly spread the most rage inducing content, and I hate that I've had to watch people I love fall for the most obvious misinformation time and time again.

I could go on about all the terrible things, but it doens't matter, we're all living in it. My time spent browsing the indie web has been infinitely more fulfilling. It's fun to learn about people, their interests, their projects, in a place that's theirs in every way. It's how things should be.

Dark Star Approved

Blue hour lighting, waking up so early it's still dark, fake ads, gigantic cumulonimbus clouds, thunder storms, rain, snow but only while it's snowing, aurora borealis, tsunamis conceptually, crazy ex-girlfriend trope, being the crazy ex-girlfriend trope, blonde characters, angelic imagery, obscure youtube choir covers of pop songs, transgender people, the color green (though I also approve of orange and yellow, sometimes pink), gold materials, people watching, elaborate pranks, geography, history, the sciences, milk chocolate, fruit flavoring, dairy products, chicken pot pies, felines, rodents, bees, reptiles, chihuahuas and dachshunds, heavy bass in music, screaming, chase scenes, near death experiences, A.I (when used ethically and in science fiction exclusively), the gas giant and ice giant planets, black holes, white holes, neutron stars, reversed audio, DILFs, ragdoll physics

Hobbies

Shamefully, I have a habit of neglecting my royal responsibilities to pursue human interests. Listening to your people's music, playing your games, watching your movies... I have a lot of free time.

I am also an artist, mainly on the computer. I use a Wacom Intuos tablet with Clip Studio Paint most of the time, though I still exlusively use medibang paint for simple editing and my OC art, I just think it's more convenient to use sometimes.

I'll 3D model for my game projects, for little site assets, or for its own sake rarely. I use Blender of course, it's the best.

I love making games, usually story heavy, and use Unity as my engine. I've gotten by just fine with visual scripting, it works for me and makes debugging intuitive. I use Fungus for a lot of my visual novel projects, it's a really amazing plugin and I love it so much.

In making story heavy games, I of course also write stories... It's extremely difficult for me. Writing can be my most satisfying hobby when it goes right, but most of the time I sit stumped and frustrated. I use google docs, I guess.

I've been pretty consistently trying to learn Spanish. I really love Dreaming Spanish... It genuinely works.

I need to practice with it way more, but I love astronomy. Duh. I'd like to get a better telescope and try astrophotography at some point. I need more outside hobbies so I'm not stuck in this castle all day...

  • Wench - Sexorcist / So high energy, it makes me want to bend my body, make it twist!
